Ilicia Winokur began her career in advertising back when fax machines were considered essential. She has worked at agencies ranging from the imperial-sized McCann NY to the independently-owned Wieden+Kennedy NY, along with a few that no longer exist. RIP Lowe & Partners/SMS.

Along the way, Ilicia provided creative vision and leadership for some of the industry's largest and most recognizable brands, including LEGO, Nike, ESPN, Disney, and Avon. She was a lead writer on the renowned "This is SportsCenter" campaign and helped introduce the re-imagined LEGO Friends characters to the world.

Awards, you ask? Yes! Her work has been recognized multiple times by Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, Communication Arts, and AICP. She even won "Best Sports Ad of the Year" once from the Philadelphia Inquirer. Also, Adweek and AdAge sometimes had nice things to say about her.

Born in Chicago, Ilicia moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in elementary school and still has a deep-rooted love for sopapillas. She studied communications at the University of Pennsylvania because she liked talking about movies and TV shows. After graduation, she moved to NYC because that’s where all her friends from college were moving. She “lucked” into a glamorous and highly lucrative assistant position and so began her career. Well, a switch to the creative department and a year and a half of portfolio classes at the School of Visual Arts later, and so began her career.

When not writing commercials, Ilicia can usually be found writing other things. She has authored several great (according to Ilicia) yet-to-be-published works of fiction and is currently working on her third “first” novel. Consider yourselves warned, literary agents.

Ilicia lives in West Hartford, Connecticut, with her husband, three kids, and two rescue dogs, Honey and Mustard. She also works as an occasional adjunct professor and loves being called “Professor” a little too much.
